When it comes to writing for digital media, the internet and new technologies allow us to take it to the next level. Decades ago it use to be so hard to share your ideas with others and get your content out to other people. Now anyone can publish their work for people from all over the world to view. I think it’s great that people from all walks of life can have access to see others work, it can help to educate and inspire others. Things like hyperlinks, videos and pictures also transform the work that is being put out. It adds dimensions for the viewers and gives more insight for the viewer to better understand what the creator is trying to explain.

Another cool thing about writing for digital media is how easily accessible it is. Digital media writing is not only found in blogs like this one, but also all throughout social media platforms. I keep stressing how helpful social media can be in cases of looking for a creative outlet, but it has its downfalls, which I’ve also written about in a previous post.

A lot of youth seem to base their worth on how others interact with them on social media. If they post something and do not get a lot of like or shares they may get an idea that it was not good enough. This leads to them having more insecurities and not appreciating themselves. Along with that seeing the posts that do get a lot of attention can draw young boys and girls to thinking they need to look or act a certain way to receive that kind of attention.

I have myself been through this phase, but I have learned that this is not the case. Likes, comments, and shares do not determine my worth. I am the only person who can determine that, andI think it's important for others to understand that.
